Meditate with Power!
Prayer = God’s Power!
II Chronicles 32:20 And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.
Meditate with Power! King Hezekiah did everything he could to prepare for the attack by the world’s mightiest army against Jerusalem. Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo in the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance. 6 And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city. II Chronicles 32:5-6
He didn’t just pray and hope and sit and wait and think that everything would be just fine, he used everything and everyone to prepare for the battle. However, there came a time when he knew his small army would be over-whelmed and over-run. Then, at the key moment King Hezekiah, when he saw the fear in his peoples eyes said the words that would change the course of history. King Hezekiah spake comfortably to them, saying,7 Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: 8 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles. II Chronicles 32:6-8
When a leader prepares for battle and mobilizes the people for war but realizes the real power is in activating God’s power through prayer, this is what happens. Meditate on this short but key verse from God’s Word. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. II Chronicles 32:8 Do everything you can as if it depended on you and pray with all of your heart in faith as if it depended on God. This is the secret to God’s power, intense preparation and even more intense prayer leads to God’s power. And the Lord sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour, and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. II Chronicles 32:21
One angel activated by prayer, sent by God and a 185,000 man army is destroyed in one night. And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven. II Chronicles 32:20 What would God do if we joined together in intense prayer for the threats facing our nation today? Join me today in asking God to neutralize the threat from North Korea and Iran today and let’s see what God can do!
