God’s Peace!
Hebrews 13:20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus.
Meditate on God’s Word! God promised throughout the Bible, from Genesis through Malachi that He would establish a new covenant with mankind through His Son Jesus. It would not be a repeated sacrifice for sins but an eternal sacrifice and offering. Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21 God gave us throughout the Old Testament, snapshots or pictures of what God would do when Jesus came to live among us. This portion of the Bible was written 700 years before Jesus was born. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. Isaiah 53:6-7
It was the promise of God to restore the relationship lost by sin in the Garden of Eden that was fulfilled through the shedding of the blood of Jesus as He was crucified for the sins of mankind. When Jesus uttered the words “It is finished!” it wasn’t to signify His mission of world peace as some would teach today but His mission of giving the world peace through the forgiveness of Jesus by His death.Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. John 19:28-30
No words of human logic and explain this better to you than the words of God Himself, as written in the Bible and revealed to you by His Holy Spirit. If you understand these words, praise God. If you don’t ask God to show you the real meaning behind these prophecies by Gof fulfilled by Jesus. God’s eternal peace can be yours today by faith when you accept and believe who Jesus is and what Jesus did for you! Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Revelation 3:20
